Young Boy With Cancer Will Get the Honor of a Lifetime

There has been a story circulating the web for a few weeks now about a little boy named Trucker Dukes. He is a little boy from Hawaii who is receiving cancer treatment in a New York hospital. The family is a fire family, dad is at home in Hawaii working as a fireman and caring for their other children while mom is with Trucker.

Three fire stations in the area have gone above and beyond - welcoming Trucker and his family in for dinners, hosting a birthday party and offering their support during such a rough time for the family. He has touched many hearts not only around the New York fire houses, but around the country.

This story hits home with me and is so magical because Trucker is down right in love with anything fire related. The pictures going around Facebook that show his excitement over fire trucks and firefighters reminds me so much of our little Sister Bear. Trucker has made many friends at three fire stations in New York during his stay, but on May 31st the New York Fire Commissioner is going to go above and beyond and make this little boy's dreams come true! It's such a touching story, memories that are making his journey a little brighter.
