Wordless Wednesday: All Clear For Another Year!

Last Wednesday there was no Wordless Wednesday here. We were at a doctor's appointment with Bubby. It was time for his annual Cleft Clinic appointment. It's an almost two hour drive to the hospital. They are usually running behind from the get-go, so we always anticipate being there for at least an hour, sometimes two. After appointments we always stop at the Ronald McDonald House that we stayed at for his original cleft repair surgery, followed by lunch before heading back home.

Here are a couple pics from last Wednesday:

Our handsome man who was over the moon when the surgeon said "No more surgeries for now."

Both of my handsome men at lunch - Bubby chose Red Robin for this trip!

Here is a pic of Bubby outside the Ronald McDonald House on the bench. We take a picture every year. I joked with him about still having to oblige his mother even when he's 16!!

Happy Wordless Wednesday!!

  1. beautiful beautiful!! good for all of you!!!

    happy WW!

  2. Oh what a sweetie! I would be happy to hear that news as well! :)

  3. Oh wow! I've only followed you for a little bit, and did not realize he'd had surgery for a cleft palate! You would seriously never know! And no more surgeries for now?!? Awesome! Sounds like a fantastic day all around.

    1. We were very fortunate that his cleft did not come through his gum line or his lip. It was only the palate - roof of his mouth. That's why most people don't know of his condition, except that he has a bit of speech issues. He's had two surgeries, one to close the gap, and another to elongate his soft palate. Sometimes it's a hard road, but that's when I remind myself of just this. It could have been worse. It could have been his lip too. <3 Thanks for stopping by!

  4. hooray for no more surgeries for a year!

  5. Hurray for no more surgeries for now, woot! Your son's handsome. I like the flashback photos!
